The Story of His Face

There’s a story behind this sketch. It’s too personal to tell it all, but I felt led to post this sketch of JESUS and speak about a portion

of it because of Good Friday today.

It was 1994.

I’d been born again a couple of years ago. I was very tender, and broken. I had asked Jesus one evening if I could see HIS face. Then in the middle of the night, I saw HiM, but only from HIS SIDE! —watch the prophetic language I use— —- you will see HIS prophetic face——

My encounter was so impactful that my heart took a photograph of HIM- HE was imprinted on me. ​ The face of JESUS I saw, was SIMPLE!

His skin, although, was translucent/transparent like crystal clear WATER. I could see his eyes- they were very dark brown.

I would say, maybe, even dark as the NIGHT, or a well! His nose was thin, and straight as a HIGHWAY set as flint! His forehead was hard like a SMOOTH STONE, and his lips were thin as a SCARLET THREAD. I remember his hair it was very curly- similar to lamb’s wool curls- but pretty long resting at his shoulders. His hair was dark as EBONY. My eyes were fixed on him! I couldn’t move. This was no ordinary-looking man. I would say in comparison to the way humans look now, he LOOKED NOTHING like us! So I wrote the first portion of this post yesterday. Today is Saturday. The Lord told me to go back and revisit the post.

 Maybe, in my brokenness what I saw was a reflection-picture of my redeemer ( what I received when I was forgiven) it’s like a roadmap to him! My view of HIM was from ( HIS SIDE) I saw Him from a side view. He did the work.

All I had to do was believe! He’s not complicated.

The gospels are not complicated!

​ I saw the WELL - His Face! - And from that impression, I drew from HiS EYE-THE WELL of living water. His eyes found me in my darkness and drew me into HIS DEEP.

nd from that encounter, I sketched him. His straight nose ( narrow- thin- long) put me on his highway - the highway of Holiness where no ignorant or foolish wander. Wahoo! I’m undone! I’m just seeing this ( roadmap) for the first time myself! Okay! Let’s keep going!!

Oh wow! This one got me!

The smooth stone and the scarlet thread prophetically speak he’s given me his word - his head- his authority lips - the mouth -speaking His word taking down mountains! Like King David’s SMOOTH STONE-David’s stone ( the WORD) took DOWN mountains ((Goliaths)) before Him!

1 Samuel 40

And David took his staff in his hand, selected five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag. And with his sling in hand, he approached the Philistine.  As the Philistine started forward to attack him,

David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him.  Then David reached into his bag, took out a stone, and slung it, striking the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground. I’m not finished! His hair!! His HAIR was so black and youthful. I believe it related to me being young in the Lord. There was something about his curls that stood out. They were perfect.

Every lock of hair had a place. No frizz! It resembled a long staircase.

Each row was perfect in symmetry.

We are made perfect! His work is done. He’s taken the stumbling stones out of the way! I feel his hair represented to me: as we ascend his staircase ( head- mountain) we are clothed with His Glory. ​ Song of Solomon 6:5 Your hair is like [the shimmering black fleece of] a flock of [Arabian] goats That have descended from Mount Gilead. ​ My response to him giving all this to me is: I will praise the Lord in His sanctuary. What I’ve just described to you in this testimony is an Alter. By the Lord giving me his face he gave me an understanding of how to approach HIS THRONE!

By HIM I Ascend to the mountain of PRAISE!

When I AM in Him, He possesses ME!!HE possesses ALL my PRAISE! He possesses my TONGUE! My TONGUE NOW is set up as an ALTER!

Hebrews 13:15-16

 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

Romans 12:1

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, given God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God ... If he has my TONGUE he has all of ME! If He has my tongue, then He has my heart!!

 

Proverbs 21

 The king’s heart is a waterway in the hand of the LORD; He directs it where He pleases. Isaiah 53:2 (NASB) For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of the parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him. …… because these things are found in the SECRET place of the STAIRS! “O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.
